Department Overview: The officers and staff of the Westlake Police Department are proud to serve the residents and businesses of Westlake. We provide 24-hour law enforcement and emergency services to all persons living, working or visiting the city. In addition to traditional police responsibilities such as accident and crime investigation, Westlake officers engage in a wide variety of community policing activities.
Area Information: Located in Cuyahoga County, the City of Westlake is a suburb of Cleveland
Age: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
US Citizen: Required
High School Grad/GED: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid OHIO State Driver's License: Required
Ability to Read/Speak English: Required
Prior Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Specific Disqualifiers: No felony convictions
Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Police Chief and/or his designee, the individual in this position performs a variety of technical, administrative, and routine clerical work related to receiving and disseminating emergency and routine information; keeping official records; and assisting in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures of the Department’s Communications Center.
