The Village of Gurnee Fire Department is currently building an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.
A completed Department Application Packet along with all required documents must be submitted to the NTN candidate portal by the deadline of Friday, February 28, 2020. Application packets are available on the Village of Gurnee Website at https://www.gurnee.il.us/jobs
The Village of Gurnee Fire Department also requires the completion of NTN's Work Attitude Questionaire (WAQ) as well as the FireTEAM test by the deadline of Friday, February 28, 2020.
Department Overview: The Village of Gurnee Fire Department provides 24-hour fire and rescue services protecting approximately 60,000 people in a 30 square mile area, with a daytime population in excess of 150,000. In the calendar year 2019, the department responded to 7,171 calls of which approximately one-third were fire and two-thirds were EMS based, including rescue calls, car accidents, and specialized rescues.
Age: Must be at least 21 years old and maximum age of 34 years (except as otherwise provided by state law).
US Citizen: United States citizen or Naturalized citizen.
High School Grad/GED: Graduation from high school or equivalent thereof.
Valid ILLINOIS State Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.

Eligibility List Selection Process:
Post-Eligibility List Process: If a position becomes available, candidates on the Final Eligibility Roster will be contacted in successive order and may be extended a conditional offer of employment. Post-offer screening examinations include but are not limited to: polygraph examination; character and background investigation; psychological evaluation; medical examination; vision screening; and drug screening. Each phase of the process is pass / fail and required to proceed to the next. A “FAIL” on any post-offer screening will result in a rescinding of the offer of employment, candidate disqualification from further employment consideration, and candidate removal from the final eligibility list.
