Job Classification: Firefighter/ Paramedic/EMT
The Maitland Fire Rescue Department will be accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/ Paramedic/EMT. This position requires FireTEAM and a valid CPAT. All testing must be completed by March 15, 2020.

You must be a State of Florida Certified Firefighter/Paramedic (or National Registry EMT-P) or Firefighter/EMT.
STARTING SALARY: FF/PM - $50,974.70 annually (based on a 56-hour average work week) approx. $17.50/hr
A one-time Certification Compensation for FF/PM totaling $3,500 for those fully certified as a FF/PM at time of hiring.
FF/EMT - $41,924.09 annually (based on a 56-hour average work week) approx. $14.40/hr.
HOURS: Varying Shifts (56-hour average work week) 24 on/48 off
Supplemental insurance available from AFLAC and Colonial as payroll deduction
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: We are Internationally Accredited through CPSE and CAAS; we are an ISO Class-1 fire department established in 1926. Located in Central Florida, we are currently an all FF/PM Transport Department. We have two fire stations, 39 shift personnel and seven administrative personnel.
We serve 18,500 residents, and a business population of 35,000, across 6.2 square miles.
High School Grad/GED: High School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the State of Florida, Department of Education
Valid FLORIDA State Driver's License: Possess & maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License
Ability to Read/Speak English: Communicate effectively in English

Additional Information: Our hiring assessment consists of Fire and EMS written and practical test, and interview board. Candidates must have an acceptable driving record and past criminal history; pass a drug screen and medical examination; background reference checks; and water safety assessment. Must meet all pre-employment requirements in accordance with state and department standards.
