Department Information: The Logan CountySheriff's Office is a county agency with a strength of 21 sworn deputies and 3 divisions; Administration, Investigations, and Patrol. The Logan County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the safety of 29,000 plus residents, several incorporated and unincorporated towns, several industries and closely related business; all-encompassing the 600 square miles of Logan County.

Not required, but preferred from an Illinois State Certified Police Training Academy. Any applicant without certification will be required to pass the ILETSB POWER Test upon entry to an academy. Failure to perform the required qualifications will result in termination.
Prior Experience: Not required, but preferred
Lateral Hiring: At the discretion of the Sheriff, a new employee who is a certified Police Officer in the State of Illinois mat start at a salary up to “After five (5)” years of service in the wage scale. A new employee shall only start at a step which is commensurate with the years of service the new employee has completed with another police department.
A thorough background investigation will be conducted for finalist before extending a final offer of employment.
