Leesburg Fire Department is currently building an ongoing eligibility pool for the position of Firefighter/EMT. This position requires a FireTEAM and a valid CPAT through the National Testing Network.

Salary Information: $43,941.44 (Includes base pay and holiday pay) estimated for one (1) year of employment
Department Overview:The City of Leesburg Fire Department is an I.S.O. Class II department that responds to approximately 10,000 calls per year. The department currently operates under 3 divisions: Operations, Training and Safety, and Inspections.
The Operations Division works out of four (4) stations with 14 members per shift. The Department provides advance life support through non-transport ALS engines, and fire suppression. 24/48 hour shift schedule totaling 2704hrs/year with a “Kelly Day”.

Hiring Process: All candidates must successfully take and pass the FireTEAM and CPAT test through National Testing Network. Selected candidate(s) will be notified by the Fire Department based upon Fire Department criteria and subsequently invited to move forward in the process, which consists of an oral interview and the completion of a City of Leesburg job application. Candidates are asked to NOT contact the City of Leesburg Human Resources Department or the Fire Department. Selected candidate(s) must be able to pass a medical evaluation, criminal background and driving record check post-job offer. Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet physical qualifications of NFPA 1582 and pass an annual Incumbent Physical Agility Test (IPAT) as condition of continual employment.
Essential Functions: This is a responsible and skilled position, which requires the ability to perform specialized work as an individual and/or team member in fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire loss management, and other diversified emergency/non-emergency activities. Operates specialized equipment and participates in fire suppression, emergency medical operations, and related diversified emergency activities. Participates in mandatory physical training program and evaluation as prescribed by department policies, utilizing department physical training program. Personnel are subject to mandatory call-back as required by operational needs.
