Sun City Fire & Medical Department (SCFMD) is currently accepting applications through the National Testing Network (NTN) for full-time Paramedic and EMT positions. This position requires both MedicTEAM written exam (WAQ required) and Medic Mile. The department will accept a valid CPAT in place of Medic Mile (less than 6 months old). Please note that there is not a separate application form; SCFMD will use the demographic information submitted to NTN for the initial application process. To be considered for the first review of applicants, testing must be completed by February 5, 2021. Applicants testing after February 5, 2021 may not be included in this round of hiring.
Salary Information:EMT: Starting Salary: $41,182 (annual) Paramedic: Starting Salary: $49,933 (annual)

Department Information: The Sun City Fire District itself was formed on June 16, 1966 and is one of the busiest of the 170+ fire districts in Arizona. The Sun City Fire & Medical Department is part of a consortium of fire departments along with Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Tempe, Tolleson, Laveen and Daisy Mountain. Our fire stations are geographically distributed throughout the community and a typical fire department paramedic response averages only 3 minutes 45 seconds. The Sun City Fire & Medical Department runs more than 14 ,000 calls per year.
City Information: Sun City is the first active, planned adult community in Arizona. It is perfectly situated in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and residents can take full advantage of the Great American Southwest in every direction from the Painted Desert to the snow-capped mountains, to the sun-soaked beaches of California. The sun shines over ten months out of the year and there is no shortage of outdoor recreational opportunities ranging from a myriad of golf courses to 10 spring training facilities hosting 15 major league baseball teams. Necessary Certifications: Must be Arizona state certified Emergency Medical Technician or Certified Emergency Paramedic. Current Medic Mile certification required. A valid CPAT (less than 6 months old) will be allowed in place of the MedicMile.
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
