Position: Firefighter/Paramedic

Starting Salary:
$16.68 per hour / $2.00 per hour transport stipend
$50,014 annually (Possible additional transport stipend: $5,997)

Marion County Fire Rescue will be conducting a hiring process for Firefighter/Paramedic; job posting on 1 Aug 2022, and will remain open until 22 Aug 2022. County applications will be accepted only during open job posting and must be submitted online by visiting the Marion County Human Resources website.
Firefighter/Paramedic – 24 hours on-duty / 48 hour off –duty (24/48), after orientation has been successfully completed. Starting salary is $50,014 annually. Possibility of additional stipend of $5,997 for being assigned to transport. ($56,011) Contractual raises: 3% raise on successful completion of probation. 6% competency matrix move based on time in grade.

MCFR is the second largest fire rescue department north of Orlando and more than 726 employees strong with an almost $90 million budget and 25 career fire stations and 3 EMS stations. The department's full-time state certified firefighter/paramedics, firefighter/EMTs, EMTs and paramedics serve more than 350,000 citizens, cover 1,600 square miles and respond to an average of 300 emergencies a day. MCFR provides an array of services to include ALS/BLS and Critical Care Transport, Fire Suppression, Technical Rescue, and Hazmat.
On average, Marion County is about a two-hour drive from many of Florida's major cities, Gainesville is 40 minutes north and Orlando is 75 minutes to the south, while Daytona Beach is about 90 minutes to the east. Tampa is about 75 minutes to the southwest. Jacksonville is roughly a two-hour drive northeast.
