The City of Burbank is currently hiring for Police Officer/Recruit! All candidates must complete the department application, located here, as well as the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network.
The City of Burbank requires the candidate PHQ as well. You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. The PHQ must be completed by the closing date or you may not be considered further in the process.
Salary Information: $6,445/month. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE POLICE ACADEMY, THE SALARY IS INCREASED TO $7,161/month OR AN ANNUAL SALARY OF $85,932 - $107,328
Benefit Information: PERS determines whether an employee is a Classic or New PERS member; if there is a portion of the Employee Contribution paid by the City, it will be reported as Special Compensation for retirement purposes only

Age: Applicants must be at least 20 years of age to apply and must have reached 21 years of age upon graduation from the academy in order to be appointed as a Police Officer at that time.
US Citizen: Yes
High School Grad/GED: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Valid CALIFORNIA State Driver's License: A valid California Class "C" driver's license or equivalent at time of appointment.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
College: If you possess a Master's Degree, you will be eligible to receive differential pay of $495 per month (effective 7/1/2016).
Academy Certification: If you possess an Advanced POST, you will be eligible to receive differential pay of 10% of the top step of Police Officer (approx. $894/month).

Preference Points: Candidates must submit their DD214 paperwork with their application to have Veteran’s Service Points applied. The Veteran’s Points will be applied at the end of the recruitment process (after the written, physical agility, and oral interview have been passed).
