North Port Fire Rescue District is currently recruiting Firefighter/Paramedic/EMT. All testing must be completed by November 13, 2020.
Applicants must achieve a passing score on the Fire Team, Work Attitude Questionnaire (WAQ), and Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). Candidates must complete the required City of North Port application atwww.cityofnorthport.com. Employment applications are not accepted until CPAT, Work Attitude Questionairre (WAQ) and FireTeam, are successfully completed. Firefighter/Paramedic starting pay of $55,130.56 annual salary (including FLSA overtime). Typical precepting time to charge Paramedic status is approximately 90 days depending on the candidate. Current top out salary for Firefighter/Paramedic is $84,421.66 including FLSA overtime.
Firefighter/EMT starting salaray is $45,215.84. Current top out salary for Firefighter/EMT is $69,239.21.

Department Overview: North Port Fire Rescue (NPFR) is an ISO 1 full service department with Fire Prevention, Suppression, ALS Emergency Services, Technical Rescue Response, and Automatic and Mutual Aid responses to surrounding areas/departments. North Port Fire Rescue (NPFR) provides full time fire and emergency medical services response and protection for the largest City in Sarasota County. Currently there are 111 (Including Battalion Chiefs, Lieutenants, Firefighter/Paramedics, and Firefighter/EMT's) line positions, not including administrative staff. We cover just over 104 square miles and an approximate population of 70,000+ from six fire stations. Our daily line staffing covers 1 ALS Engine, two BLS Engines, three ALS Quints, one Tanker (Tender), Five ALS Rescues, and one Battalion Chief.
