The Hoquiam Fire Department is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic! All candidates must take the FireTEAM exam through National Testing Network as well as have a current CPAT at the time of chief's interview to be considered further in the hiring process.
The department requires the candidate PHQ and Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA). You can access these through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PHQ and PSSA as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.
Salary Information: $5,314 - $6,660 plus 2% for AA/AS or 4% for BA/BS in work related studies
Benefit Information: Medical/Dental/Vision premiums paid by the employer and Healthcare Reimbursement Account paid into by the employer. $75,000 life insurance policy. Paid vacation and Holidays.

Department Overview: The Hoquiam Fire Department is fully paid career department and employs 21 line personnel on 3 shifts operating out of two stations. We have approximately 3500 calls for service a year.
Area Information: The Hoquiam Fire Department is located in Grays Harbor County Washington. The City of Hoquiam is located about an hour west of Olympia, WA towards Ocean Shores, on HWY 101. The rural location, waterways, rain forest and beaches make Grays Harbor and the City of Hoquiam a great place for outdoor recreation.

High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid WASHINGTON State Driver's License: Ability to obtain at time of hire
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Must meet LEOFF 2 Standards
Academy Certification: Not required, but desired IFSAC FF1/FF2 and Hazmat OPS
Necessary Certifications: Current Paramedic certification with the ability to obtain certification in Washington State and Grays Harbor County within 90 days of hire.

Hiring Process: After we receive your scores from NTN, you will be contacted by the Hoquiam Fire Department to set up the oral board process when we have current or up-coming vacancies. The top 5 candidates from the oral boards will move on to the Chief’s interview.
