Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue is accepting applications for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for full time Firefighters for 2022. This position requires the FireTEAM exam and the Candidate Physical Ability Test with ladder certification (CPAT with ladder) be complete by September 1, 2021.
Salary Information: Per Union Contract. Starting Jan 1, 2022 Minimum anticipated salary is $49,409 annually. After 3 years it would be $62,472annually. Previous full-time firefighter experience will be taken into consideration for offers of employment.

Department Overview: Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue (NMFR) is a career department with 68 employees. There are 63 line staff positions, who are members of the International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, Local 275.
We are a consolidated fire department that provides services to the Cities of Neenah and Menasha. We serve our two communities from four fire stations. We award-winning fire prevention education programming supported by rapid, efficient response for fire, EMS, and rescue emergencies.
Area Information: NMFR is a consolidated Fire Department that provides service to the Cities of Neenah and Menasha, Wisconsin. This area is located in the middle of the area known in Wisconsin as the Fox River Valley, in north east Wisconsin.

College: Associates Degree
Necessary Certifications: State of Wisconsin: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Inspector I, Driver/operator, Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations, and Medical First Responder. NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800. State of Wisconsin Fire Officer. SCUBA/PADI are preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements: Active and valid CPAT Certification obtained within the recruitment year, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.
Schedule: The workday shall consist of a twenty-four (24) hour shift beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 a.m. the following day. The normal work week shall consist of fifty-six (56) hours with a three (3) platoon system, operated on what is known as the "California" Plan, based on a nine day cycle commencing with one duty day, then one off-duty day, then one duty day, then one off-duty day, then one duty day, then four off-duty days.
Probationary Employees: Per Local 275’s Labor Agreement, all newly hired employees shall be on probation for a period of one year from their date of hire.
For the first 60 calendar days of work with the Department, probationary firefighters may be scheduled as determined by the Fire Chief. Scheduled time will not exceed the 56 hour workweek and FLSA rules will apply. Probationary firefighters will be available for emergency call-ins, short shift overtime and other non-scheduled times and will be compensated appropriately.
Probationary employees will complete a five week recruit training provided by the department before they begin their line position.
Training: Probationary employees will complete five weeks of recruit training before they begin their line position. During these five weeks of training, recruits will work Monday through Friday, 8 hour days for a total of 40 hours per week.
